I like the Food Network. I don’t love it because I do think they are currently suffering from an identity problem since the attempt to provide mass appeal is in overdrive and getting away from what put it on the map is kind of front and center at the moment, but I digress…..
This link shows A Tour of the Food Network Prop House and it’s pretty amazing. One of the ideas mentioned within the linked blog post from Eddie Ross is that people “eat with their eyes” and I really believe that. Obviously, this is more of a concern on a TV set rather than completely true in a casual home or picnic environment. Although I may not be one of those individuals that needs a FULL STAGE set of exclusive and unique decor to truly enjoy my meal, I definitely get the idea of some people needing more “flare” to enjoy their meal. LOL!
Back to the Prop House though. I am amazed at how organized this place is. Wow! The amount of unique and period pieces is more than impressive. Really makes for a great set and from a historical perspective, really shows an evolution of decor. I think the most difficult decision would be to make a selection for a respective set/show with so many choices.
